GRAD NOTES

Grad Notes

What are Grad Notes?

Grad Notes are a sentimental tradition for graduating seniors at Los Gatos High School. They are handwritten, personal messages of support written by family, friends, or anyone who has positively influenced your student throughout the years. These notes are an opportunity for people who have impacted graduating seniors' lives to give them words of wisdom, a fun memory, or a thoughtful message.

When do Graduates receive Grad Notes?
Graduates receive Grad Notes in Grad Bags at the end of the graduation rehearsal on June 6th.

Where and when do I get Grad Notes?

Three (3) pre-printed Grad Notes  (1 sheet) are included with each Grad Night ticket purchase and can be picked up at any one of our three (3) neighborhood locations.

Grad Notes, along with Senior Memory Boards will be available at these three locations starting  March 6.

Johnston Residence:

190 Stacia Street (near the History Club)

Shafiei Residence:

17 Glenridge Avenue (near downtown )

Dibowitz Residence:

104 Del Carlo Court (near Blossom Hill Park)

If you need additional Grad Notes or if your student does not plan to attend Grad Night you may download our Grad Note digital template if you need more.

Grad Note Instructions:

  • Grad Note template is 8 1/2 x 11 sheet  and will provide 3 individual notes when cut. The individual note will be folded so the Wildcat Forever is the front cover. Written wishes should be inside the note and could included the backside.
  • Ensure each Grad Note has your graduates’ first and last name written as noted on the template.
  • If you use the digital template, we recommend printing on bright white paper and set printer at 100% not "scale to fit".
  • The Grad Bags are small so please limit the messages on the Grad Notes to the space provided. Grad Note should be folded in half so please keep that in mind if photos are attached.
  • Place all completed Grad Notes secured in the black bag provided at the drop off locations and place bag in labeled depository box- do not staple them together.
  • Parents or guardians should complete a minimum of 3 Grad Notes for their senior. Drop Grad Notes off at one of our designated boxes on the porch at one of our locations listed below. Please do not mail Grad Notes.
  • PLEASE, DO NOT ASK TEACHERS OR LGHS STAFF TO PARTICIPATE IN WRITING GRAD NOTES. Teachers and staff have a lot on their plate at the end of the school year, and we'd like to support them by not adding more. Please respect this request from LGHS Leadership.

What if I want more Grad Notes?

Senior parents or guardians can download the Grad Notes template, print it at home, and then distribute to family and friends. You can also email the template directly to family and friends and have them print the Grad Notes out themselves and return the completed note to you for delivery.

Where should I drop my completed Grad Notes?

Completed Grad Notes should be dropped off in the clearly labeled plastic box at these three locations                             April 15th - May 6th, from 8:30a to 7pm.

Johnston Residence:

190 Stacia Street (near the History Club)

Shafiei Residence:

Options to simplify collecting Grad Notes from family and friends.
Family and friends may find it helpful to email you their Grad Note comments and you can transcribe, tape, or glue messages into the Grad Note yourself. This option makes it easier for some to turn around a Grad Note quickly.
