GRAD NIGHT DETAILS
What is Grad Night?
Grad Night is a 38-year Los Gatos High School tradition that is 100% parent-organized, funded, and executed. This treasured event started in the 80's to provide a safe and sober local celebration for our town's graduates. The LGHS
campus is transformed into the perfect playground of neon lights, a packed dance floor, hilarious games, unexpected entertainment, delicious food and more. Specific details are kept secret so the graduates will be surprised and
delighted throughout the night.
2025 LGHS Grad Night
Organizers over the last two years have been consolidating student and parent feedback to create a more sustainable event moving forward. Preserving the legacy of LGHS Grad Night and modernizing the event will ensure an amazing,
turn key night.
We are happy to announce our new partnership with SASCC (Saratoga Aging Solutions & Community Consulting) as Grad Night can no longer operate under LGHS Home & School Club Tax ID. SASCC provides pro-bono work for nonprofits with organizational budgets under $1M to assist with sustainability, grant sourcing and writing, strategic partnerships, and administrative support. They have agreed to act as the new fiduciary sponsor or will help LGHS Grad Night parents transition to their own non-profit in the future.
A few changes reflect new and increased safety protocols required by the school, the loss of key on-campus
storage and desire to reduce waste along with the need to streamline volunteer needs, set up, and teardown process.
- Scaling down the footprint of the event – requiring less infrastructure, volunteers and decor
- Utilizing rentals and vendors - with the loss of on-campus storage, the new strategy will avoid parent built décor that is only used for one year.
- Welcoming food trucks to simplify logistics, no food waste, fresh food all night
- Focus on the most popular attractions to keep energy high and reduce wait times.
- Attendance - graduates are expected to stay for the entire event. To ensure safety, if a student wishes to leave early, a parent will need to pick them up.
How Parents Help
Parent support is paramount!! The weeks leading up to graduation are very busy for all, so please keep the following in mind:
- Read all communications – emails will come from LGHS or info@lghsgradnight.com.
- Buy your ticket EARLY – since this is a self-funded event, we need your ticket sales to pay the deposits for the vendors.
- Volunteer – join a committee to prepare for the event, volunteer at Grad Night or look for jobs as the needs are posted.
- Positive Support – Hype up the event to your student, encourage attendance, and support the event by blocking out your schedule to drop off and pick up your graduate. Please do not host your own events during Grad Night hours!
- Parent Checklist - Check out the Grad Night Parent Checklist to easily keep track of deadlines.
